Hannah’s Story

A native of Toronto, Hannah began performing professionally at the age of 15, singing and playing banjo with the New Orleans jazz ensemble The Happy Pals at Grossman’s Tavern. She graduated with honours in Dance Performance from Rosedale Heights School of the Arts in 2005, and further honed her dance skills at the Canadian Children’s Dance Theatre, studying Royal Academy of Dance Advanced Fundamentals.

While studying Psychology at the University of Toronto, Hannah’s original band, Foxfire, began to gain attention, opening for acts like MGMT and Glass Candy, and recording with Holy Fuck’s Brian Borcherdt. Foxfire was also featured in Bruce McDonald’s film Trigger. During this time, Hannah also sang with the Toronto All Star Big Band and collaborated with The Happy Pals' Patrick Tevlin on his solo project, Tevlin Swing, releasing two albums.

Currently, Hannah is represented as an actor by Creative Drive Artists, alongside Sara Gadon and Emily Hampshire. She is also completing post-graduate studies in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at The Centre for Training in Psychotherapy. In addition to her acting and psychotherapy work, Hannah occasionally performs with the synth-pop band Body Butter. She lives in Toronto with her two children.
